Any mini-usb car charger would work. It doesn't have to be droid specific. Mini-usb is a phone standard now.

As long as it for mini-usb devices it should be fine.

    I hate when this happens.

I sometimes am scared to buy those cheap chargers, but a charger is a charger I guess.

Around February I lost the portion of my charger which converts usb to AC, and I also hesitated buying a cheap charger. But I definitely wasn't paying for a $30 verizon charger, so I bought a generic one and it worked fine. :)

Yeah, I bought the $30 T-Mobile one for my G1 at launch. Although I didn't know the phone was a standard mini-usb when I bought it.

I really like the Incredible, but since they don't have those in stock the Droid X it is. they are holding for me on 7/15. Motorola seems more reliable to me anyways.

I believe you are getting mixed up between Micro and Mini. That is wrong.

These phones are Micro USB ports not Mini USB. Majority of the phones now use Micro USB as they are known to be more reliable as well. Mini USB ports use to be on older phones a few years back such as the Blackberry Curve 8330.

Wait. The Droid X connector is a mini USB port not a micro USB like the Incredible? I had just assumed it was a Micro port.

I have never used a screen protector for my droid and all it has are some hair-line scrathes that you can only see in the right light at the right angle. And I have dropped mine many times. Onto concrete at least twice. Any phone with gorilla glass doesn't need a screen protector, IMO.

Ok. Glad that's cleared up that it's Micro USB.

Is the orientation of the port on the Droid X the same as the Droid or is it 180 degrees off?

I'm looking to get a right angle (or left angle) micro usb cable and want to make sure I get it with the cable routing down the device, not up.

It's 180 degrees off than the original Droid. It would be a right-angle if you want the cable going down the device

Sweet. I just found my Micro USB car adapter for the LG Dare. I'm ready! Already bought a HDMI cable from Amazon too!
