Help Battery dead and wont boot

My unrooted droid x battery died and the phone will not boot. I tried my buddies battery and it works fine, so is it possible that my battery just wont charge? When I plug the phone into the wall charger, it just flashes quickly to the motorola logo, the green led blinks once, and then it turns back off and repeats. It will do this forever and the battery still doesnt charge. I tried unplugging the sd card and the battery, and that didnt work. When I plug the phone into the wall without the battery or sd card, it still has the same issue. Is my only fix buying a new battery? Thanks.

looks like just a bad battery. if urs wont charge
