    HI

Just wondering if any of you think that a sim card could drain my battery.

My phone was discharging in 12 hours, so i took it back to the shop thinking the battery had had it (8 months old). They sent it back to HTC who replaced the handset with a brand new one.

While the phone was away i used a spare HTC snap which again was discharging in around 12 hours (normally last 4 days) so went to my old school Nokia 8210 and that also discharged in about 12 hours.

Got the new phone from HTC at gave it a full overnight charge and guess what discharged in about 12 hours.

All wifi, bluetooth etc turned off, look in battery info and only stuff listed was Cell Standby, Android System, Phone idle and display.

The only common thing in all three phones was the sim card, can it really cause the battery to discharge.

    Thanks

    M

Got a new one on the way from orange.

I also find it strange that this started to happen when Orange and T-Mobile joined forces. I've since turned off automatic operator searching and set it to just manual.

I didn't think it did that automatically. I thought you had to ask your carrier to activate use of each others network. I night be wrong. do report back.........

I only turn my mobile network on when i need it, battery lasts two days now. I can still receive and make calls and sms.
This is the way the smart phones work, they chow up battery power.
