Thanks to JerryScript I got the Betterbatterystats app today. According to what I have seen on there, something called "Dialer" seems to be causing the most wakelocks. I have a feeling that this "dialer" is something important. So what do I do about this? How do I control this? I'm still a bit of a noob to all this, so bear with me, please.

Okay so I found out that I definitely need the Dialer. So again, how do I handle this?

How many minutes is the dialer running? My Dialer is way down the list, almost no usage. Do you have any apps trying make calls automatically? Do you talk a lot? Dialer should not be a major drain. If you're in a poor signal area, that IS a major drain (but has nothing to do with Dialer).

A few of my apps say "Phone cals - read phone state and identity" when I checked in "manage applications". Could that be an issue? They aren't trying to make calls, it seems.

EDIT: Google Talk had something about "intercepting outgoing calls". I got rid of that app. Never used it anyway.
