Use something like Better Battery Stats: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats&hl=en

Sounds like something you have installed is causing a wakelock (keeping your device awake even when the screen is off). Take a look at the partial wakelocks with that app and see what the top offenders are.

Can you post a screenshot of your list of wakelocks? Both partial and kernel?

Just saw the lists. Both have little to no wakelocks. Give it some time with the app on the device and see if something stands out after a day. You should far exceed the current life you have and if not a rogue app id possibly look to exchange as defective if you have had less than 14 days. Which carrier do you have?

For reference, I unplugged my device at 7am yesterday. I've used an hour of GPS and several hours or texting/phone calls and some streaming of video and I'm now 32 hours in and still have 22%

Keep in mind that the batt meter needs some calibration is this is the first full charge. Some users reported better batt life after 2-3 full charge/discharge cycles or even after they did a full reset.
