I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I have a strange charging issue also:
Last Friday, I tripped over the cable as my phone was charging in my car (I forgot that the phone was in my lap). After that, the charging indicator would not light, and the phone finally lost its charge and went dead. Over the next day, I tried charging the phone with several different cables and chargers (I also have a Kindle Fire with a micro usb prot, and that was charging fine). I couldn't get it to charge.
Then I plugged in a Duracell Instant USB Charger, which I sometimes carry for emergency charges (a great product, by the way), and it took the charge. I tried numerous throughout the day to charge it; sometimes the charging indicator would light up, but 2 different apps I have installed that indicate the amount of charge the phone is getting were showing that the battery was still discharging even though it was plugged in.
The next day, I charged it again with the Duracell charger, and put a drop of Deoxit (it cleans and lubricates electrical connections) on the usb port, and I went to my local VZW store. The tech plugged it in, saw that it wasn't charging, and said "Yeah, the charging port is no good. We'll send you a replacement under warranty". That night, I found that I could get my phone to charge if I angled the cable upward while it was plugged into the phone.
Over the next couple of days, the phone went from only charging when the plug was angled upwards, to charging all the time, same as it originally had. It seems to be totally fine now. I recieved the replacement two days ago, but, not wanting to deal with the hassle of reloading a new phone, and afraid that the new one might be a lemon, the replacement is sitting on my dresser drawer.
Now I don't know what to do.
