Battery issue

So I charged my Droid last night when I went to bed.

Woke up this morning. 100%

As of right this minute, my phone is displaying 3% battery remaining.



So...uhm....wtf?
I haven't made a call, haven't rx or tx a txt, I updated 3 apps this morning via the app store, and had gmail updating on. That's it.

No wi-fi, no gps, everything off.

Using the Droid this way, I've been able to use the phone solid, for two to three days before needing to recharge.

This is VERY discouraging.

To check what is using the battery, go to settings > about phone > battery use. Once you see what is eating up the battery you'll have a better chance of fixing it.

Says phone off the charger for 4 + hours, 35% was the display.

Which is interesting..cause it that was all, that would mean the display was on all the time. Which isn't the case. For one, I have the display to time out and go off after 2 mins.

So I had turned off the phone when I posted the thread.

I turned it back on to double check the battery usage, and the battery is full.

WTF?
