Received my HTC Sensation a week ago. As usual initially played with it for few days. Charged few times. Then had to go away from home with it - just watching battery life - terrible. Charging every day? Is that the way it is with current smartphones? Eventually switched off everything except phone and Exchange ActiveSync. Even without talking and using it - still charging every day. Previously had 3 year old Blackberry Storm - was running for 2-4 days no problem. Have not changed usage patterns really - no twitter, facebook. Just looked up spec - standby time up to 350 hours? I would like to get 48?

Charging every day is standard for most current smartphones today.

If you're not gonna charge it every day, best to just not get an android or iphone smartphone.

Its just something you get used to. Charge it in the car, at home, at work, etc. Chargers are cheap. Our phones, and phone bills, are not. I refuse to let my phone sit with a dead battery. Drives me nuts.

Just I do not understand where all standby/talktime specifications come from? If I saw standby time of 48 hours in spec I would not buy it. Like I said I am not on twitter/facebook etc. I am using it as just a phone. Last weekend I even did not look at it - battery still drained in about 36 hours. Everything like GPS, location services was off. Only phone and ActiveSync was on... I understand when you actively use it during the day - but not me...

I am also using HTC Sensation and facing this problem of battery life. I need to charge it everyday and when i went to the retailer complaining the same they told me that using a multimedia phone will face problem, i do listen to music at times and also play games, and have also configured my e-mail account on it. I receive seversl of mails daily, so i think that is drinking up my battery life.
