Need some help.....I have always gotten great battery life, recently flashed the latest Cataclysm 4.4.2 and Franco r20. Now battery is horrible, losing 3-4% in about 5 minutes. I noticed when checking my older battery screen shots (and others on this thread) that my Android OS is around 6-9% however now mine is at 51%. I'm sure this is probably the issue, can anyone tell me how to fix this? I need my battery life to be how it used to be. Thanks in advance.

Edit: And this is with phone on standby 80% of the time.

Thanks...I did as you said and it got worse. after installing BBS I rebooted, walked away from the phone for about 30 mins. Checked the phone, it had dropped 4%, BBS stated screen had been on for 34mins, sleep for 0secs. Check battery and Android OS was at 89%. Don't know what to do from here.

Do a Nandroid backup and factory reset. Run it for a bit and see what it does. I can tell you I am *not* getting what you are seeing with Cataclysm 4.4.2 and Franco r23.

I hear ya, I even downloaded Cataclysm again to make sure I have a clean download, flashed again. Really confused, I just did a clean flash without Franco, gonna run for a few hours and see what happens.

Update: It's been two hours now since clean flash of Cataclysm 4.4.2, and no Franco installed. After first hour I checked battery and still at 100%, after 2 hours at 98% and now my Android OS states 7%. WiFi did show most battery use but I forgot to turn off "always look for WiFi". Conclusion, doesn't look like my phone likes Franco :( Sucks cuz I like lowering the voltages.

I would try Franco again before you restore other stuff. I think it is far more likely you had a rouge app.

I recently had my battery get heavy drain and it turned out to be that Tapatalk got locked in a loop trying to connect to a forum server and never stopped trying. Weird stuff can gobble your battery. This is not a common result of Franco on your model phone. ;)

As mentioned above, it could have still been a number of things.

In the process of reinstalling cataclysm ROM:

The reboot may have solved it, the ROM flash may have solved it, the cache wipes may have solved it, the new kernel may have solved it, ect

Too many variables at the moment to make a conclusion right now :) My hypothesis is it was a wakelock in one of your google related apps.

Well ran the phone today for 4 1/2 hrs without r23, moderate use for me, battery 95% and OS at 5%. On my lunch I decided to install r23 and give it another shot. Within the first 5 minutes of full charge it dropped to 97% and OS was at 51%. Before all this I was running r19 and didn't have issues, I know every device reacts differently so I will run the kernel that comes with Cataclysm for now. Thanks for everyone's feedback and suggestions.

My battery isn't what it used to be. Its not nearly as bad as yours was. If I use Franco...it will be r19. That was my best battery.

Yeah I'm confused, I've always had good luck with Franco, I'm thinking about trying r19 again but don't have much time now. Off tomorrow but changing water pump in my truck and not off again til Christmas.

If you install r19, let me know what your battery life is like.

This is my battery without Franco since my last post. I'm glad you are getting good battery with r19, I think I will give it another shot. I just want to make crystal clear that I am not against Franco, I think it's a great kernel and the latest r23, for what every reason, doesn't agree with my phone, but it is a great kernel and hope I can figure out why I am having issues. I will continue to support the program and I am thinking about trying r19 again and see what come of it.

Flashed r19 today as well and must say battery life is much better.

There may be something to the r19 theory

Every phone reacts differently to kernels. No worries my friend :)

Weird. I tried r19 for awhile yesterday. It certainly was good, but I really didn't notice a difference. Today back on r23 and after 8 hours (admittedly light use) I'm at 90%. Whatever the variables are that contribute to these differences, my setup seems fine with r23.
