I got a used phone but it's in good condition. Only problem was the battery life was awful, which I expected as it's obviously an old battery. So I bought a new one from a reputable dealer on ebay. Paid

Does it sound like I just need a decent battery then? There are some Samsung branded ones on ebay, was a bit reluctant to waste more money though not knowing whether that would fix the problem.

    Thanks!

I got a battery and external battery charger off ebay so I could charge the spare outside of the phone.

I wouldn't be so sure a branded battery is acutally legit. Especially off ebay.

Do you have any other suggestions? I'm getting less than 12 hours from a full charge but I don't want to have to return it to the shop.

    Thanks.

Put the power control widget on one of your home screens, so you can see if Wifi and Bluetooth are running, and therefore wasting battery. You can easliy toggle them off.

Also set screen brightness to minimum. You can increase it with the power widget when needed.

And 2.1 upgrade improves battery usage.

    Also use a TasKiller.

Thanks a lot for the advice. Just one more question if you don't mind... Any idea where I could find a decent but reasonably priced battery?

That one doesn't appear to be a genuine official one. The same site has one that looks identical to the one that came with my phone that's actually branded Samsung (not just a sticker) for
