Charged it fully b4 I went out last night around 7PM. Took several photos and videos, sent numerous texts, made a few voice calls, moderate browser use, FB, YouTube, and spent about 5 minutes every hour zoning out on my "solar winds" live wallpaper:D! Battery was at 63% by 3AM! I'm totally fine with these numbers! Battery life on the 1st day (thurs) was awful. Dropped 10% on standby in 20 minutes! Huge improvement IMO. Anyone else noticing improvements?

Yeah, I would say it is.
I am not sure if it's because the novelty is wearing off or because the device is calibrating.
    Probably a little of both.

fully charged my phone, did nothing but made a few calls and texts, used it as mobile hotspot for maybe 10 mins, went to bed woke up it was at 50 percent.... I think this is just about me being new to android though. I had wifi, gps, and mobile hotspot turned off before i went to bed. I was expecting it to be close to 80-90 percent when i woke up lol.. was very dissapointed - what was it doing all night!? ha.. like i said this is probably just me but my battery life has not started to improve just yet - and i'm on 3g not 4g.

LiPo batteries do "break in" with some use. I've seen this tendency on bare battery packs that I've used with RC cars and planes, so there's no "calibration" going on there.

And yes, I'm seeing better battery life today. Yesterday, I took the phone off the charger around 8:15, and it completely died around 1:30 - that included some plugged-in time during the morning.

I turned off 3G yesterday. (There's another thread here with instructions on how to do that with Phone Info.) Today, I took it off the charger at 7:15, I've had the screen on for somewhere around 45 minutes, and I'm still at about 65% charge. So using 35% over 4.25 hours would give me roughly 12 hours on the 1400 pack.

I'm going to go the weekend with 4G turned off, then try again Monday with 4G turned on and see if there's a drastic change in battery life.

Thats not out of the ordinary. Couple of things, I always charge my phone over night. These phones continuously "reach out" to update things like email, social media, news, weather, etc. Even overnight while not in use so charge at night. These can be changed to update less frequently which will help battery life. Also, mobile hotspot is a battery intensive app to say the least. Oh and don't worry about turning off GPS. It only activates when an app requires it and its icon will show up on the top of your screen. I keep mine on 24/7. It took me awhile to figure out Android battery behavior but Im sure you'll pick up what works best. Hope you're enjoying your new toy!

Make sure to turn off the "Background data Sync" the "Auto-Sync" and set everything else to only sync when you open the app.

Before I did that... my battery was useless. 2 hours of idle usage was sending it down to 80%.

After turning off all the syncs, it took... 6.5 hours to drop to 54% from 80%. MUCH Better. Sure I have to turn on the "background data sync" when I use say... ANDROID MARKET.. but how often is that anyways?

So in summary... I could probably get 1.5 to 2 days worth out of my battery IF... I shut off the following:
    1. Wifi
    2. GPS
    3. SYNCs

and run 4G LTE all I want.

Just try it and watch your battery stabalize!

If you are a light user, maybe, but no way that long always with 4g- At least not with a 1400 battery.

Yes I consider myself a light user. That length of time also includes complete idle time during a nice 9 hour beauty rest.

And the key thing to note was the difference in battery usage when all that high frequency auto-syncing is disabled.

I'm very happy with my battery. It lasted 14 hours yesterday and when I went to bed it was still at 40%

Very slightly I would say, its probably going to take a week to seven days for the phone to really calibrate and get conditioned. But I can't see it getting so much better where I'm like Woaa, this is great battery life!! If I was able to get a full 8/10 hours on a single charge with moderate / heavy use I'd be ecstatic, not happening.

Ok now I know for sure. Something is wrong with the OWN battery.

I just bought the extended battery from Verizon. I just used the phone on GOD navigator for a 15 minute drive and 1 hour idle, two 1 minute calls, left gps on the whole time... And the battery stayed on 70%.... The ENTIRE time...hasn't ticked down yet...

The oem battery would've lost 5% on the navigation trip alone...

Anyone else try it yet?... I'm gonna run it from 100 to 0 fully abusing the battery and see how long it lasts... I'll check in after.

Thirteen hours of pretty substantial use and I'm at 36%. I'll take that any day.

Yup. Went 12+ hours today in 4G. moderate use when not on the floor working. Just now hit the "red" on the battery. Just put it on the charger :) I'm happy as long as I can go a day w/o having to put it on the charger. Edit: this is the first day I haven't had a live wallpaper
