Just thought I'd share my experience regarding battery life.
Im a fairly heavy user. My battery lasts about 16hours on a business day. Ive not been particularly happy as i tend to have to nurse it in the evenings.
My phone spends most of the daytime connected to my wifi as i work from home. I was trying to sort out some unrelated networking issues and have now installed a wireless repeater. Ive never had an issue getting wifi though. My phone is generally about 20m away from the router but with lots of walls to get through.
Since installing the wireless repeater, wifi signal strength has improved obviously. Side effect of this is that my battery life has extended to about 20hrs (according to Battery Left). Disregarding the numbers, i now find i can get through my day with plenty of juice to spare.
Just goes to show much signal strength effects battery life. Mobile reception being the biggest factor as ive seen firsthand how my battery can last maybe 6 or 7 hours in a crappy reception area.
