so i was wondering under the location settings if you use just GPS instead of using wireless networks to find you do u think u could save more battery? It states that wireless network locating will constantly show ur location even if ur not using a app. GPS on the other hand only runs when its needed. do u think turning that off and using gps would save battery?

No. GPS chip uses way, way more power. The cellular triangulation is almost free in terms of power usage (your phone is connected to the towers regardless).

I get much better battery life with "Use wireless networks" unchecked.

I don't know if it is the actual location-finding that chews the battery, or latitude regularly uploading my position to the latitude server.

It can be a pain with it switched off though; if you aren't picking up GPS signal then maps won't locate you at all.
