Yeah it's not good, but it's not terrible. My s3 was better though.

I had the S3 for a year and thought the battery life was poor. The S4 was better and the Note 4 surprisingly great.

How is it compared to the S4?

Seeing that I upgraded from the s3, the battery is so much better. I went the whole day yesterday without charging it.
It probably would've lasted overnight if I wasn't in an area with bad reception. Probably.

I charged my battery to 100% then drained it to 0. I then charged it up to 100% again and it dropped to 96% in under 2 mins!! I'm draining it again to try to regulate the battery to see if this helps. Not a great start, but love the phone otherwise!

I was worried after reading the horror stories, but my battery life seems about the same as my iPhone 6. I installed the update and did a factory reset when I first got the phone before setting it up.

Welcome to the forum :). But be warned that those recommendations are, shall we say, "controversial".

Experienced android owners are familiar with the task killer/RAM cleaner/battery optimiser discussion, and we don't need this thread to turn into yet another repetition of it. So rather than take this thread off topic can I suggest you visit this one instead?

As with my previous three android phones, my battery life has gotten a lot better after a few days of use. It is partially due to the battery getting used a few times, which increases the capacity a little. The bigger cause (I believe) is that android phones stay very 'active' for the first few days of their lives, then settle down. once everything is downloaded, set up, etc.

I realize that the above comment is pure speculation, but my experience has been 100% consistent on this. Give the phone a week before you judge the battery capacity. I was originally unhappy with my S6 battery life, but am now pretty pleased with it.

I find that the S6 has slightly better battery life.

Oddly, my speed booster app (apparently battery booster too) kicked up my battery life by about 20%. I was really surprised since I didn't even imagine it would affect my battery. Still don't know how it did for sure, but I'm not complaining ;)
I believe it is still free in Google Play. Here is the link if you want to check it out:

I just received my Samsung S6 on Saturday and have been disappointed with the battery life. I had fully charged it last night and this morning I reviewed my email and within the hour I was down to 93%. Now I am at 51% and all I did today was talk for a total of 1.5 hours, set up my work email account, send a few text messages, checked some emails and looked at instagram for a few minutes. I am hoping the battery life will get better as jgscott987 had metioned above.

I'm on my 3rd S6. The first two had hideous battery life. But I guess the third time is the charm. The S6 I have now has very good battery life. I'm not even using Battery Saving Mode or a battery booster or task killer app. In case anyone is looking for ways to increase battery life, here are some things I think have helped:

    - I turn off wi-fi or 4G if I'm going to stop using the phone for awhile
    - Turn off the LED light for notifications (I personally have never cared about that)
    - Turn off "Ok Google" voice detection
    - Disable unwanted bloatware
    - Keep location services off unless using an app that will not work without it
    - Turn off auto-sync, unless you're very dependent on keeping email and weather updated on a constant basis
    - Manually keep the screen brightness as low as you're comfortable with (don't use the auto feature)
    - I use black wallpaper...all the fancy colorful ones can devour the battery - I actually like the black wallpaper, the widgets and icons really "pop"
    - Instead of TouchWiz, try Nova Launcher Prime (I've tried other launchers, but Nova seems to be the least battery- hungry and it's a beautiful, very customizable launcher, however I do also like TouchWiz, so I switch back and forth)
    - Other suggestions: don't use live widgets, disable notifications for apps that you don't need to be updated on constantly, install GSAM Battery Monitor - it's not a task killer, it simply tells you what is using the most battery life

For me, none of the above tips take away from the Samsung/Android experience. But I know needs and preferences are different for everyone.

If anyone out there is interested in using any of those tips but aren't sure how, I'm more than happy to help. :)

Switched from an iPhone 5S to the S6 a week ago yesterday and was really disappointed with the battery life. It seemed to lose 10-20% per hour during the day even if hardly used, and would drain at least 40% overnight. I tried disabling unnecessary apps, wifi, location, etc. and used every other trick I could find online. After 4 days, I factory reset the phone, and re-installed all the same apps. Now it lasts longer than my iPhone did.

Not sure what was wrong with it originally, but now it's great.

Switch of wifi calling and go to Phone-> More->Settings->Voice over LTE and disable it ,this helps little bit :)
