As the title says, my battery maxes out at 94%, even after being completely charged overnight. When I noticed this yesterday morning, I thought it must have just been a fluke and that it got unplugged or something, but after it has consistently happened 2 nights in a row, I realize this isn't a fluke and that my battery isn't being fully charged. Is this happening to anyone else? Is there a way to fix it?

I don't think this means the battery isn't fully charging, I think its more of a disconnect between the actual charge and the display. Are you checking the percentage under phone settings or with a widget? I noticed my battery widget usually shows 96-97% when fully charged, which is odd but no big deal to me. I actually haven't ever checked what the percentage is under phone settings when fully charged but I will next time.

Right now phone settings says the battery level is 87% and my Extended Controls widget says 87% too. I'll let it charge fully and look again.

This is normal behavior, per the many other comments on the Net about it. If the phone gives you good performance I wouldn't consider it further.

There is also a long thread in this forum about Nexus S battery life that might interest you.

After messing around with it for a while, I can confirm that the % that's on the widget is always the name number that's in the settings. It did go up to 95% this time though. >_<

Idk what to say about this. Mines maxes out to 98% as well. I don't think it's the widget "quick battery". I used it before on another device and it would reach 100%. It doesn't bother me that much but I am curious as to why. I leave it on the charger all night when it is already at 95% and the highest it was at was 98%. I still get good battery life throughout the day though.

I got a Lenmar battery from Radioshack and a 3rd party charger from eBay. I put the Lenmar battery in the 3rd party charger and left it in there until the light on the charger when from purple to blue. I put it in my phone, and guess what, 100%! >_< A 3rd party charger knows how to charge a battery more than a $550 phone does. How does that makes sense? xD I'm going to charge my official battery on it and see what happens.

I'll bet it goes to 100%. The 95% may be a blessing in disguise, The article below says that not charging the battery to max voltage, lesser %, extends the life cycle of the battery. See fig4 HERE

Keep us posted on the Lenmar battery. Is the usb port full size (like on a laptop) on the charger?

The 95% charge which seems like everybody is getting may be a non issue since a lot of people are reporting 12+ hours battery life.

All that trouble and expense so that it shows you an extra 3%?

I'll keep you posted on the battery, but so far it is good. It's mainly going to stay in my wallet and be used as a backup battery though. Just for S&Gs, I'll give this battery an extended run tomorrow to sere how the battery life compares, but out should be just as good if my quick run is anything to go off of.

About the trouble, I'm not going through any trouble. I just wanted to see if it charged my batteries to 100, and out did. I'm going to continue to use my phone to charge my secondary battery. About the expense, it was like $10. Also, I didn't do it for the extra 5%. I ran into the following situation multiple times with my blackberry, the nexus will NOT be different, especially since the battery is slightly worse.

It's a long day, you burn through your primary battery completely, you put in your second battery and burn through most of it. Day's now over, you want to go to bed, but you can only charge your battery with your phone, looks like you only get 1 battery until you can find a time to swap them. Now comes the aid of the second charger, you can toss three secondary one in there, toss the primary battery I'm your phone and call it a night. Might not need it ALL the time, but it's a great help when I do need it.

At 97% on the charger now. Been that way for a few hours. Non-issue as far as I am concerned.

Just wanted to let anyone who is interested know that the 1440 mah Lenmar battery I bought works great. I was able to use it ALL day yesterday, then last night I was feeling too lazy to dig my charger out of my backpack and charge it, so I just let it be. It still wasn't out of juice when I woke up this morning, although it was VERY low. Long story short, it seems to be just as good as the stock battery so far.

I'm thinking the USB port on the charger is to plug the phone into, not to charge the battery via USB, but I could be wrong. It is a full USB.

I was thinking it was an input but maybe it is an output.

To reconfirm my suspicions, I just plugged in the charger, then plugged my phone into it. It charged it. Then I plugged a full-to-full USB cable into both the charger and my laptop, it didn't do anything. Mine is most definitely a port to charge a USB device from.

I emailed the place I got mine from, here is their response.

    "Dear Sir/Madam,

    Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The USB port does not have any function.

Please feel free to contact us again if you need further assistance.

    Thank You."

So you can charge a battery and the phone at the same time I would assume.

Yes, I could, but I'm not going to be doing it through this charger. :p Odds are it would work fine, but I'd rather not risk a $550 device to find out if it does work for prolonged periods of time. I'll just stick with my stock charger.

hey guys, like a couple of you guys mentioned earlier. I just ordered a couple spare batteries off Ebay and after charging it, it gives me 100% . To be quite honest, i think its the Samsung BATTERY that is defective. NOT the phone itself. I mean i wouldnt call the battery at 95-97% defective by all means, but if its a new phone, new battery, there isnt a reason why you should SEE anything less than 100% if you fully charged it. We should bring our batteries back to the Sprint store and have it replaced!!!

I have noticed that it does show to be full around 96 or 97%. But after only having the phone a few days, i'm getting great battery life. After 12hr of normal to medium use my battery was down to 36%. I have a 1750mah battery on the way, and I will see how much use i can get out of it. And I will check if the charge level is different.

It's the phone that's not charging it to 100%, as I said, my eBay charger charges my Samsung battery to 100% while my phone doesn't.

It is the phone, I got my Seidio 1750mah battery and it only goes up to 98%. But after 8 hours today, sending text, email, playing some games, watching youtube and netflix my battery is at 62%. Not bad for the first charge, it was a slow day at work and I had plenty of time to play with the phone to see how the new battery holds up.
