With all of the different ROMs available...

Is there any reason one of them would drain battery faster than another?

In my experience, Froyo (2.2) ROMs use less battery, all other things being equal, than Eclair (2.1) based ROMs (quite a bit, in my experience), and Gingerbread (2.3) ROMs are slightly more battery efficient than Froyo. Within the same Android version, I generally find them to be about the same.

But, if I might add, they get even better when you take the time to set your phone comp settings up, wipe your battery stats and condition it, etc.
