Battery with Lightning Bolt

Hello All,

Quick question, as I'm now just getting in the grove with 2.1 :

If I have the USB cable attached to the phone and the PC and when I turn the phone completely off, I get a picture of a Battery with a Lightning Bolt displayed (Which is weird, because the phone is off, yet displays an image anyway). Is this normal?

I'm leaning towards normal since it reflects the true state of the device, but just checking to be sure.. Thoughts??

Normal, to let you know it's on charge.

USB can carry power that's why you can get usb fans and lights and stuff. Firewire is just data connection just in case you're wondering.

No, Firewire can be used to provide power to devices if they're built to do so. It has to have a 6-pin cable though, it doesn't work with the smaller 4-pin cables (that's why you can't recharge your camcorder using the firewire cord for example).

It's normal...and a new feature of 2.1 since on 1.6 you could not turn the phone off and charge at the same time, plugging would boot the phone up.

what's the point about the Firewire?
