Is there a way to display the battery percentage near the battery icon in the status bar?

Try Battery Indicator or Battery Indicator Pro in Tue market. Also you can do Personalize>Add Widget>Get More Widgets>Battery.

The htc widgets have one that is about the same size as their settings widgets. I like it. Displays the battery percentage and when you click on it, shows you more detailed stats. When you are charging, it is animated.

Battery percentage can be displayed in the notification bar with use of some apps for that purpose available in Market.

Just a note: you're not offering a tip, trick or tutorial, you're seeking a tip, trick or tutorial, so the prefix label has been changed to Support. ;)

Yes there is, try my app, it displays the actual battery % in the notification bar.

Here's my app thread: Battery Monitor

And a link to it in the Market: Battery Monitor

If you try it out and it has a problem, please let me know in the app announcement thread, thanks.
