    Android Version: Froyo
    Network: T-mobile
    Taskiller Used?: Nope
Are You rooted & which Rom: Nope
    Issue:

So basically I seem to be getting the 'random restarts' issue that many other people have been getting with the Desire. The main problem I'm having now is that it refuses to boot at all - it just sits on the red circle loading logo and does nothing.

I've tried restoring it but that just takes me to the red circle loading logo. How long should I let it try to load the restore functions? Left it for a good five minutes so far and nothing happened. I've tried the same while plugged into the usb but get the same result. I've also tried both with and without my sim card and sd card inserted.

Is there anything else I can do to try and restore my phone to life again? How long should I wait until the recovery process actually does something? Or should I just bite bullet and send it back to HTC?

    Cheers!

even if you could bring it back to life, it will not last long.

Thanks for the quick reply. It's a shame to hear I have to send the old beast back to it's maker, but it'll be nice to get it fixed.

So I guess my final question is this: if I want to make sure that no one at HTC can have access to my emails, can I just clear the user data from the phone and remove my sim/sd cards before sending it back to them?

Ah ok - I didn't change any of the defaults for storage, so does that mean my SD card will have most of my apps/email data on it, and my sim card will just have my contacts on it?
