Hmmm...downloaded it, but on the reboot, all I get now is a yellow exclamation mark inside a triangle (with the Android robot)...and the phone stays on that screen - can't seem to get out of it!
Had to remove battery manually to get it to shut down and reboot...
Have CWM installed...figured I'd try to install the update manually from CWM...but when I select Apply update from Zip and select the file:
assert failed: check_cid(getprop....
E:Error in /sdcard/download/OTA...
Anyone has any idea?
I installed ClockWork recovery thinking I'd unbrand it...but never ended installing any specific ROM...
Edit: It's apparently due to CWM...trying to figure out how to go back to plain old HBOOT
Installed it last night with no Issues to report so far. Seems like a nice improvement on overall performance and battery life.
Finally managed to get the update...see thread at:
Bell stock ROM? - xda-developers
Everything looks good so far. Finally - WiFi proxy! Neat little improvement on the notification bar (there's a tab with power control now)...
is the delayed sms still a problem with this update on the incredible s? i am hesitant to update mine...
sms working just fine on mine.
That's good to hear, thanks you.
I installed the update this afternoon and so far I am very pleased.
The phone is noticeably faster and the battery life is better.
And BTW, I dont have any issue with Wi Fi.
i'm not updated yet too...if the delayed sms has been fixed, i would like to update mine...
For the record...no SMS problems here, and no WiFi problems either.
And...they now have WiFi proxy! Fina-friggin-ly! Have a proxy at work, and couldn't use WiFi at all, which was kind of annoying (especially since it's been on the iPhone since day 1).
Other thing I say (along with the WiFi proxy) in the advanced WiFi Settings (Setting / Wireless / Wi-Fi Settings / Menu+Advanced), there's a "Best Wi-Fi performance" option that's not checked by default.
Wonder if that's related to the WiFi issue that some have been complaining about for Gingerbread...
Oh, and one more thing - the video player now can play all my AVI (divx) directly. No need for some crappy external player!
i updated yesterday. no longer has front facing camera...replaced with a mirror app...bummer
Dunno what you're referring to...but int he camera app - instead of the menu item to switch cameras, there's a camera button in the top left corner to swap.
Everything seems to work okay. I find my battery life is shorter. Maybe something is now on and killing it?
awesome. Thank for pointing that out.
Front facing cam is definitely still there as Tokoki said and have what i would estimate about a 10-15 % increase in battery life. I always factory reset before and after an upgrade. Maybe that helps with issues.
