So...I preordered the Evo on May 13th, first day BB took their preorders. I did so thinking that I had eligibility on June 1st.

Come to find out today that I'm actually eligible July 1st. :(

Asked Sprint if they could move me up since I really need a new phone (mine was washed in the laundry and by the grace of God still works, for now) And they said they could only move it up to 15 days, so middle of June for full $150 upgrade.

The thing is, Best Buy has my Evo for tomorrow and from what I've heard from someone on here will only hold preordered phones until Sunday? I don't mind waiting on other shipments later in the month, but would still like my preorder Bluetooth bonus.

Do you guys think Best Buy will hold my Evo preorder and/or bonus for a while? Or can Best Buy mobile call in tomorrow to Sprint and get my eligibility moved up the 3 weeks? I really need the phone :(

Keep calling C/S and even consider threatening to switch carriers.
I've read numerous cases in these forums where even one user got his August eligibility moved to June 4th with a bit of effort.

I did call in a few times and didn't threaten to cancel altogether, but suggested that we might cancel my line and move to an iPhone. We're on a family plan with 5 lines and my line has the closest upgrade date. They gave us some credit for the "inconvenience" but as far as getting the upgrade moved up...nada.

My BB told me the pre-order BT headsets were first come first served so i doubt they will hold you headset for two weeks. YMMV though since every BB seams to have their own policy on everything.

Yeah, I'm think unless we can get the phone tomorrow somehow, we're gonna lose the bonus...pfft.

Kinda gets me mad that Sprint couldn't do us a favor and move ONE of our 5 lines up 3 weeks to get a phone. Bad business if you ask me.

I mean, it's not like we always use our credit every 2 years, or even call in for perks and we've been on Sprint 10+ years too...wtf?

They can def move your eligibility date up more than 15 days. It took a supervisor a few hours to do it, but she called me back to let me know it was done. The eligibility date was moved up 2 months. All depends on who you get to help i guess.

You mean, you were on the phone a few hours? Or they called you back?

    Wow, yeah, I don't know.

I already called them 3 times earlier today. I guess I can try again tomorrow and ask for a supervisor. Sheesh...lol

Yeah, I'd work on them a bit more on the eligibility. How long have you been with Sprint? More than 2 years total? How much is your monthly bill? AT&T moves up eligibility if you bill is over $100. So look for anything you can say about you being a loyal or a profitable customer to help motivate them to move your date up. You may have to get a manager to approve it. A lot of times there is a limit to what a 1st level support person can do, in terms of credits and things like moving up eligibility. But a next level manager will have greater capability. So you can just flat out ask, "can your manager do it." I once got a $700 credit from Sprint because I claimed I thought the night part of "Nights and Weekends" started when it got dark, you know when it actually is night. They had to move the approval up 3 manager levels to cover the amount.

If that all fails, which if you're dilligent, it probably won't, but if it does see if you can put the phone on lay away if you're worried about availability in 2 weeks.

Option #3, go ahead an pay full price for the phone now and just get a new plan. Then return it for a full refund within 2 weeks. Claim such and such wasn't acceptable. 4G not working much inside buildings is a sure thing. Sprint has a 30 day return period. See what Best Buy's is, for sure if you claim you can't tolerate a short coming you can get away with paying little or no fee for getting to use the phone for 2 weeks. Is that ethical? Well you are going to eventually buy one, and don't worry, Best Buy will be making tons of money pushing people to pay for that $20 screen protector that costs $1 for them and takes 30 seconds to apply. They tried to slam me with it. They asked me if I wanted it, I said "No" then when she was reading me back my order she said, "and you DO want screen protector." And acted like I had ordered it before. They also don't tell you how much it costs. They just say, "Do you want us to put a screen protector on for ya before you get here?" like it's just a favor or something. Perfectly willing to offer you this without even telling you there's a charge and how much it is.

    Good luck.

    Thanks sonicwind.

I know, there's always a way to get what you want, like you said, you just gotta be diligent. I may call up one more time tomorrow and see if I can get a supervisor to push it up, it really shouldn't be a big deal IMO. We pay almost $200 a month and have 5 phone lines and have been with Sprint a loooong time, they should take care of us.

Layaway sounds like a plan too, didn't even think about that. And I just checked Best Buy's layaway site and it just so happens that the store I preordered at does layaway... nice!
