Best cinema app??

I was just wondering which was the best cinema showtimes app available for the Desire?

I've had a look at the Orange Wednesdays app (although I'm on o2!! - not sure if this makes a difference!) and its great except for when I click on the film I want to see, it brings up those cinemas closest but it doesnt list all the showtimes (only a few then runs out of space!) and if I click on the cinema itself it just takes me to the cinema details (address, phone number etc!)!?!?!

Anyone got any recommendations??

Thanks......

Hello all,

I wrote an app to find movie showtimes everywhere in the USA and Canada (another version covers France). This app is really hyper fast and robust compared to others.
Unlike Imdb, it is not oriented toward finding movie information, but rather toward finding showtimes in your local area :

Cinemadroid

It takes a few seconds to load all showtimes for the week, for all cinemas of your city (actually more than 3 000 cities are covered). And the it takes half a second to find showtimes when you filter by theatres, movies, hour and date.

Among the best features are :
  • it's free !
  • long press on items to find additional information on movies, theatres.
  • gps / network automatic geolocation
  • theatres sorted by distance
  • mail or sms a set of favorite showtimes to a contact of your list.
  • app in english, spanish and french

It is really extremely fast, and the interface is simple and intuitive (comes with a detailed help)

Of course, I am the author, but really the app is worth a try.

I hope you like it :)

I don't know. Movies is really good. Its pretty quick. It shows all the cinemas within my locale, I can easily select one and see which films are playing and their show times. I'd probably have to visit a few different pages on a browser to do that.

Nope, that is exactly what Google Mobile does for you.

Search Button > "Cinema" and you've got what you describe above :p

When I do that I get a page that shows films. When I click a film it shows me a map.

But when I use movies, I can find my cinema and then see whats on when. A movie is not so worth seeing that I need to find where the movie is playing then decided where to see it. Especially when I live in a city where films show on the cinema regardless.

Its all personal preference but "movies" is so much more intuitive for me and definitely not redundant. I pick my closest cinema and then the movie I want to watch and I knwo instantly and so much quicker than if I used google. I dont want to pick a film, then poke a map to find out where I can watch it.
