If you haven't already heard, Dark Sky is shutting down. I know, I know- we're sad, too. That's why to ease the pain we've created this list of Dark Sky Android alternatives so that you can best fill that gaping hole in your cloud-shaped heart.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Dark Sky will be shutting down in July 31st but many apps and services (including the apps below) use the Dark Sky API for their own weather data. Dark Sky has committed to keeping their API up and running until the end of 2021.

Meteogram Weather Widget (Free / Pro)
The Swiss-Army Knife of Weather Widgets. This is an advanced widget with tons and tons of customization and visualization options. This is for advanced users who want much more than a download and done app. If you want something you can adjust and tweak to your heart's content- look no further.

    Windy (Free)
Beautiful Weather App with fantastic widgets

    Yr (Free)
Relatively less popular but similar in style to Dark Sky with great reviews

    1Weather (Free)
Editor's Choice in Google Play Store and a household favorite

    WeaWow (Free)
Widgets with both hourly and Daily forecasts

    MyRadar (Free/Pro)
If you mainly just care about radar this is the way to go

    Today Weather (Free)
Another all-around favorite and Google Play Editor's Choice

    Appy Weather (Free)
The most personal and fun weather app (but not the most accurate)

    CARROT Weather (Free)
Comic relief with a weather app. Choose your political affiliation in the settings and the app will make fun of you no matter who you support.

What's your suggested Dark Sky Alternative?

MyRadar has a bar at the top which shows current conditions at whatever is centered on screen, but that can be pulled down to expand to forecast and other information, a feature that they could do better to make obvious. Also, "weather underground" is a very good weather app.
