Just got the Google Nexus 1 after 3 years with iphone. I am looking for a desktop manager that allows me to generate intelligent playlists and transfer them, along with other music, to the Nexus. Also one that plays as many file formats as possibel. I'm on PC.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

A media player software will not let you play additional formats that your OS does not already play. This shouldn't really be an issue, since just about EVERY media software can convert them on the device for you.

Winamp has been great, and Windows Media Player works well too. Since the android phones work like a USB flash drive, you don't really have to have special software though.

About the playlist issue, now that I am not sure of, since I tend to not use playlists.
