Root Best EVO ROM

Hi I was wondering if there was a ROM that met all these requirements.
EVO 4G native ROM (or any rom that can handle 4G and Tethering and the HDMI output)
But with bluetooth HID support.

For some reason HTC has not implemented support for complex bluetooth functions. I was wondering if anyone had taken an HTC EVO rom and added the bluetooth support in somehow.

I want to be able to use complex bluetooth functions with my EVO but I don't want to sacrifice 4G, HDMI out, Tethering or Sense UI if I can help it.

If I can't help it, the sense UI would be the first to go, what roms work well with the other EVO centric options (4G, HDMI, Native Tethering)

Also, I'd like to point out that I don't want to use a third party Tethering, I'd like it to just be built in like it is on a stock EVO...but this isn't a deal breaker.

So, any good ones out there?
Thanks!

Hey, decided to give this a try, the very one you have in your signature, and the "Market" is not there. Did this happen to you? If so, how did you get it installed on your phone? Thanks for any assist.

EDIT: Never mind, I got it done on my own. :)

Vaelpak 3.0. Everything works, best battery life, Vaelpak App with awesome updates options and downloads, force roam onto verizon, available theme. I have flashed every single ROM including CM7 and this is still the best rom ever.

Vaelpak is a good option for a ROM, however I wouldn't agree that it is the absolute best. Everyone is going to have a different experience given the variables and what they are looking for. I'm testing out Azrael 4.0 with the packaged kernel (HTC #15) and have not had one single glitch thus far. Battery life is better than most ROM's I've flashed and the performance is solid. MikFroyo is another ROM that runs quite snappy and stable. On the AOSP end of things....CM 6.1.2 (Cyanogen Mod) rocks. Once again....everyone is going to have their own spin on which ROM they prefer. I think once CM7 is complete (with 4G fully functional, HDMI and all miscellaneous issues) it will be hard to beat.

I use Fresh 3.5 My battery lasts close to 24 hours with moderate use. (I play a lot of Live Hold 'Em Pro) I've used Myns before as well. It's good, but I just got more battery life out of Fresh.

^ I am currently back on Fresh as well. Mik's was super fast, and Myn's worked fairly well also. I had issues on both but I honestly believe now they were something far deeper than the Roms

For those running Fresh is the bloatware included or removed? How much internal storage do u have left after the rom is installed?

Fresh... It Rocks... Really... no issues... great bat life...

try it..
Salute Gatr
ps it rocs

I'm new to all the rooting stuff (still haven't even flashed my first ROM so I'm thankful for this thread) but it kinda puzzles me why Cyanogen is so popular given that 4G, HDMI and Swype are not supported.

For the Cyanogen users, what are the benefits of it that make more appealing to you than Myns 2.2 or Vaelpak 3.0? Not trying to sound snobby, I'm just not sure it's even worth trying if it doesn't take advantage of all of our phone's hardware. :)

Well, I am rooted, but haven't flashed a rom yet, close, but so far...

Here's my take. I agree with you. :) But many don't have 4G available where they are, and have no need for HDMI...and don't use swype. I fit in that category. BUT, I do like Sense...call me nuts....so, Cyanogen does offer alot of speed, customization, and NO Sense, which is a draw for many.

Finding this thread helped me out a lot, I couldn't find any ROM I was liking after I rooted my phone. I didn't hear about Fresh until I found this thread, and it's pretty much perfect.

Edit: Alright Fresh isn't my cup of tea after playing with it for a bit. I think what I'm really looking for is a clean Gingerbread, or Froyo rom. Nothing added or removed, just something that seems like it came straight from Google without anyone else touching it. No added apps, themes, or anything.

For some reason I can't find anything like this, I think I must be using the wrong search terms.

I have flashed quite a few ROMS, but ever since I flashed the new MIUI update a few days ago I have found a new home!! The speed is incredible. I am really impressed with how this thing was put together.

I'm just flashed CM7 the other night, and it does support swype, but it's just not pre-installed. I rarely use 4G anyways and have never used the HDMI. AOSP just seem to run a little better than Roms with sense. Sense just seems to slow down the system from my experience. I did use Myn's twopointtwo for a while though and thought it was great. Nothing I have tried is as snappy and responsive as CM6 and CM7 though

sounds like you should try an ODEXED ROM miks... or ricsims stock turbo. both basically are stock rooted rom that flies...

MikFroYo v4.6 - Odex Beta II stock not theme-able at the moment.

ricsims stock turbo stock theme-able.
