Question as title. Curious to see what everyone uses instead of the default exchange client, and why.

Touchdown. Does everything. I use it because I want to keep my work stuff completely separate.

Last time I looked, it was a lot cheaper in the Amazon market.

I struggled along with the stock mail client on my Atrix 4G and it simply could not stay connected with ActiveSync. I often had to reboot the phone to restore the ActiveSync connection. Two days ago I bit the bullet and downloaded the trial version of Touchdown. It worked perfectly and brought all my email, calendars, and contacts together in one widget. Worked so well I paid the registration fee after one day.
