So I am retiring my DInc tomorrow and replacing it with a brand, spanking new, slightly used, purchased from a 3rd party DInc2 tomorrow. I'm wondering what the best practices are for activating/setting up the new phone and transferring data. My plan is as follows:

    1. Titanium backup on all apps and all data on DInc.
    2. Rom Manager backup of DInc
    3. Go to VZW website and activate DInc2
    4. Transfer SD card from DInc to DInc2
    5. Walkthrough setup process on phone
    6. Root DInc2 (warranties are for losers)
    7. Install Titanium backup from market
    8. Restore all apps (no system data, just apps) and settings
    9. Spend time tweaking the wallpaper, date settings, etc... that didn't get restored
    10. Hold memorial service for DInc :(

Does this sound like a reasonable plan or am I missing something?

I'm a bit worried on restoring apps as they are different phones. I'm more comfortable letting the market reinstall all my apps, then restore app data.

I've restored apps from different phones with titanium before, Like you said don't restore the data unless its absolutely necessary, if then on a app by app basis. I've gone from different phones and multiple roms without issue.

    Maybe I'm just lucky, lol!

Can I restore BT pairings and wifi hotspots or will that cause problems?
