This may well have been done to death, so apologies, but have done search.

I am looking for a good QR/Barcode scanner. There are hundreds out there, and all have both good and bad reviews.
O would appreciate some recommendations and any warnings against any.

I am more than happy to check compatabilty with my phone myself, so don't worry about that.

Thank you very muchly.

Yeah the label/object recognition. The database is surprisingly good. Id expected it to only work with US products :)

I found Googles worked well with UK labels, objects and barcodes, it got most things I put to it. Now Chinese labels, objects and barcodes, it doesn't know much about at all. Not surprising as Google doesn't really do too much in the PRC.

Lmao havent tried that. Nah i meant Google Now :)
Im not a huge football fan but it would be nice if it recognised Glasgow Celtic instead of giving me The Celtics.
Plus its never gave me a news card :banghead:
And google are trying to dodge paying tax the UK lol :D

The nice thing about QRdroid is that you can create your own QR codes. So I have a folder of personal QR codes I can pull up. Then I have various scans I can show people with my personal, work, acquaintance, etc. info. If I really don't like you, I let you scan in the QR with my hotmail account and old home landline that I disconnected a while ago.

Another vote for Google goggles. I started using it to easily look up gatherer text for magic cards but have found many uses for it since then.

Goggles didn't know what this is.

Keep the posts coming. I started with Google Goggles but I've found that I'd prefer one that is smaller...space is severely limited on the Venture. A few posts recommend Barcode Scanner by ZXing, which is a reasonably svelte 664KB but I'd love to hear from someone who has had a good experience with an even smaller one.
