Hello all, I'm in the process of flashing CM7 to my bolt and was wondering if I should get a new radio as well. I'm currently using the MR2 radio and having no problems at all. Do the newer ones give any advantages? Or should I just wait till the GB radios come out?

If you're not having any problems with the MR2 radio I'd run with it.

I flashed the leaked 704 radio because the MR2 radio would not keep a solid data connection for shit and I got sick of seeing 'check your internet connection' messages.

I'm using the newest 704 radio and its been solid for me no data loss, transitions from 3g - 4g are on point also. IMO the best radio to date, but of course you'll hear different stories from user to user.

+1 I've had no issues with the 704 radio that I received on the others, I am now getting used to not seeing "Check your internet connection" pop up for every app I try that needs an internet connection :)

    What they said ^

To add a little more, I was typing one handed, holding a pizza walking through the grocery store when I typed that.. I'd say if you're not having any issues with the MR2 radio, the official one, stick with it. I tried the new one because data was flakey and was willing to give anything a shot.

Seems most say the 704 leak is more stable with keeping a data connection, but you'll notice more of a battery drain the first few cycles after calibration. It gets better and currently is on par with the MR2 IMO.

Yeah the first few days I was on the 704 I was very tempted to revert back to the 627 due to the battery drain. But once it sets in the battery drain goes away. I would say that if the 627 radio is setting par the 704 just shot a birdie:)

I got many random reboots with 704 and changed back to 627 they were gone.

I've seen others report something similar to that before. What rom were you running at the time? I haven't had any issues with the 704 but I have also been changing my rom every 48 hours at least.

Gineritiis 1.2 -newbase- then gingeritis 3d v and vi. Also 4G was testing slower as well. I have had no data connection issues with 604
