What do you think is the best screen size?
If you could build a top of the line Android phone from the ground up what screen size would you make it?

5". I have a 4" and it's just a little too small. Anything larger than 5 won't be Portable enuf for me

Think around the 4.8" mark is perfect.

I agree with both of you. The Galaxy Note is a little too big for me and I think that is at least a 5" screen isn't it?
I usually carry mine on my belt or on my shirt (button down work shirt and I stick it by my chest with the belt clip).

I think the Note is 5.3", the Note 2 5.5".

The design of the phone can make a big difference. I found the Desire HD (4.3") too large to be comfortable, but am pretty much OK with a One X (4.7"). So 4.7" with a reduced bezel should be OK for me, but I can't imagine I'd want larger than 5" however designed.

I do like the way that Motorola have fitted a 4.3" screen into a phone barely larger than my 3.7" Desire (RAZR I/M).

5" should be fine, so long as the bezel gets a bit smaller it should feel no bigger than the S3.

I heard the Galaxy S3 is going to be 4.99".
I just hope that the overall phone size doesn't get any bigger.
I really like what Motorola did with the Razr m/Razr i by putting a 4.3" screen on such a small phone.

I hope that the next Nexus phone stays with a 4.7" screen but I hope that they reduce the overall phone size by reducing the top and bottom black borders.

My phone is a 4", which is just a little too small to be perfect. I would prefer something like 4.3"

4" is great. Large enough to see stuff. Small enough to use one-handed.

I currently have the GNex I remember I upgrade from an original Incredible and when I saw the phone I was like, "WOW" huge screen!!!

But lately I have been very interested in "Phablet" phones and really want to try out the Note 2, and I heard the S4 will have a 5" screen so, a lot of options we will see what happens :)

Liamo, you need a poll! :p:)
For me, I could go a little bigger than my GNex at 4.6",but I think I'd cap out at 5. The DNA looks nice to me form factor wise.

I have S2 and I think it is good size, 4.6 should be good for me.

My current handset is 4.7, I don't think I could go bigger than that. I couldn't go smaller than 4.3 either.

Funny how the preferred screen size keeps going up. You can read comments like "I have X and I could go to Y but Z is too large" from different recent times and XYZ just keep going up. When do we hit the max screen size is the question....at which point the manufacturers will probably start marketing smaller is better and the march will go in reverse. Of course flexible/projected screen technology could change that equation.

For me, right now I have a 4.7" EvoLTE and could see myself replacing it with a 5" Note sized device. Then again I'm a big guy. I could never see my wife happy with carrying a device that large. The amusing thing is that there was a time not too long ago that I swore my 4.3" Evo was the maximum screen size I would ever want or need.

Besides, didn't SJ proclaim 3.5" to be the perfect screen size? We're all heretics!!! :D

I don't know. I've had the MyTouch 3G, the MyTouch 4G, and the Galaxy Nexus. Still think the MyTouch 4G had the perfect screen size. I love having a Nexus phone but not a huge screen.

It's funny how the trend in cell phones use to be to keep making them as small as possible, then smartphones go mainstream and now it's all about going as large as you can go. We have the 5.5 Note 2, we have the upcoming Hauwei mate at 6.1, and more rumors beyond that. I started with Galaxy S1 (4), then a Samsung Charge(4.3), and currently have a Gnex(4.6). The Gnex screen is actually a little too large for one handed usage for me because I have small hands unfortunately, so I don't think I would want to go larger than 4.7. So anything between 4.5 & 4.7 I think I'll be happy with.

Round about 4" suits me. I don't have very big hands so much bigger won't be so easy for me to use with one hand.

I'm only 5 ft 8" and for me to be able to easily reach all areas of the screen I would need a screen of about 4.0"-4.3".
I'm currently using a Nexus 4 and I do like the screen size but I would not want to get a phone with a 5" screen. But...if the next Nexus phone had a 5" screen I probably would get it, only because it's a Nexus device.

I know I am really enjoying the Nexus 7 but for me that is definitely too big for a phone. I know I could definitely try something a little bit bigger than the GNex I am currently using.

What is keeping me picking up and doing things with my Note 2 is the speed/response and the size of the screen.

I have a Tab 2 also, but that does not go everywhere with me as the Note does.

Of course, after using the Tab the Note seems small and not so "perfect" anymore. :D

    I voted 4.8-5.1

I think the Nexus 4 is a great size. I wouldn't mind a slightly larger screen, but only if it means reducing the unused space around the screen. This would be hard to do since there is already very little bezel area on the sides of the N4. Physically I don't want a phone that is any bigger at all. I would never even consider using a Note sized phone, that is what I have a tablet for.

So far 4.0-4.3" is proving to be the most popular screen size. Pity there aren't any "flagship" devices in that size.

That's probably most people that voted still use last gen phones, like me.
