The phone......some people forget that the phone rocks!!!
Believe or it, I've heard some people whine about the phone app. From the voice quality, to some feature that their old phone had, and so on. I just don't think you can please some people. Frankly, I can't find too many faults with this thing.
The phone app is just different than what I was used to with my Blackberry, but once I got used to it I found I liked it just as much if not better. The call quality since 2.0.1 is amazing, no problems whatsoever. It's great as a phone. I had some issues initially but the update generally took all of those problems away.
My previous phone is/was a Motorola so I had good call quality when the crappy Microsoft OS didn't lock up dialing.
wow this thread sure relieved me when i read it. ive been hearing so much about the quality of phone conversations (from sounding underwater to sounding like a robot/box) .. this is however fixed? i need this to be a great phone first and foremost.
I agree with the quality of voice and the reception of the phone.
The app does lack in some areas though. The Droid, while much more, is a phone first and foremost. I am sure they saved space by making such a small and simple phone app but, come on! Could we at least have some options? I guess maybe I am just frustrated by the lack of (or my inability to find) good phone apps on the Market.
What specifically is missing from the phone app?
Have you tried SuperDial?
I just downloaded superdial, looks great! Nice to have the dialer and call log on the same page, plus uses T9 to find your contacts from the dial pad.
The Motorola Droid release date was November 2009. Features and Specs include a 3.7" inch screen, 5MP camera, 256GB RAM, processor, and 1400mAh battery.
