Sorry if this question has been asked but what I'm looking for is this:

A bitorrent client that will download directly to the phone (no pc required) and can scan barcodes to search/start downloads. I've seen apps that can do one or the other but it seems like the ultimate would be to do both.

Anything like that out there? A pipe dream still? Sounds like a hell of an idea for a dev out there...

There's dTor, but it is $4.99.

Don't know how it is or if there are others

Definitely, the best Torrent app out there is Transdroid. I love this one.

    Transdroid is only for remote!

I suggest aDownload. It is still buggy a littlebit and consumes most of the processing power of the phone but still a well-structured, working free app. However, no barcode reader inside..

All the others got limitations such as speed or downloadable number of files.

If anyone got a better suggestion will be welcomed!

I don't think that there are any good bit torrent clients for Android as most of them just control your downloads from your PC.

Ive found that aBTC works ok for a standalone droid app. No barcode scanner tho, but its free.

I use swarm and it works as well as can be expected. Not sure if it scans bar code, but it can be used in conjunction with torrent-fu which does scan (same dev). I have gotten quick replies from dev with any questions. My 2

Check out aDownloader. It's free with no speed limits and you can dowload wherever you want.

    There is a lite version.

Check out the reviews of the Pro version.
    It is the best.
Not the most downloaded, but the best ;)

    Good morning,
Does these torrent clients do any caching to minimize writes on flash storage? As you know, flash storage only has a limited number of writes before failure.
    Thanks,
