What's the best Twitter App for the Droid Eris?
You'll get any number of answers to that one. IMHO, in order of preference,
the built-in Peep
i'd go with twidroid, its pretty awesome ..both versions are!
well before 2.1 I would have said Twidroid Pro or Toiuteur
since 2.1 ----- Twicca ......
I have only tried twidroid and tweetcaster (and Peep of course) and I liked Tweetcaster best. But the free version has these annoying ads, and I can't justify paying for the full version when we get most of that included with Peep. I'll have to try Siesmic and Twicca and see if they are any better.
I'm testing out Twidroid (free) and Peep now. It's probably all I'll ever need.
Thanks for the suggestions.
I use my Twitter account just as a listener and don't do any posts or re-tweets myself so the HTC Sense Peep Widget is for me.
It depends. If you want to spend money, twidroid pro is best- has the smoothest interface IMO. If you want free, Seesmic is best- it has all the features of Twidroid Pro (video links, link shorteners, pic link, multiple accts) but without the price tag.
What I would suggest is download the lite version of twidroid and other twit apps and seesmic and see which one fits your needs. That's what I did and stuck with seesmic. (although I'm secretly wishing tweetdeck hurries up and comes to android already)
have you tried twicca?
I'd love to try it, though I'm happy with Seesmic, but cannot, as Twicca is not in the market for the eris.
Are you running 2.1? I just searched for it and found it on the Market. Although prior to this, I'm using Seesmic and it's fine for me.
I don't Tweet at all, but I am subscribed to tons of people and check two or three times a day for updates. Namely bloggers on gadgets and cars and stuff.
Twicca is only available for 1.6 + .
When you get the update, make the switch. It's my favorite App of all the ones I've tried. You can color-code your followers, so i have green for tech, blue for personal, yellow for celebs. Very good functionality, attaching pictures, and a sexy/appealing UI.

Two Minute Drill: Twicca – Android and Me
If you are running the leaked 2.1 the new version of Peep is great. I have used Twidroid and Toiuteur, but don't really see any extra features. May just be me though.
I love Twidroid cause it has Trending Topics, but that's just my opinion.
I may be a minority on this forum, but I am not updating to 2.1 until there is an official update.
I'm sure that I will try out Twicca when I get 2.1, but I have to say that hearing it has a "sexy/appealing" UI isn't what draws me. I just looked at a screen shot of Twicca, and I think I still prefer Seesmic.
I should also say that since Twitter added official retweets and they now show the original poster in your stream, rather than the user who retweeted it, there are clients who did it the "new" way - Twidroid does, for one - and Seesmic does it the "old" way - the tweet shows as being done by the person I am following who retweeted it. That's what I prefer, and is one of the reasons that I prefer Seesmic to Twidroid. (I also had a usability issue with Twidroid - if I started posting a tweet, then changed my mind, I'd close the compose box but when I returned to the app, it would still pop up the keyboard. This would only fix by closing the app. Perhaps an update has fixed this?)
twicca is very light and clean, defo a nice app
i use toutier pro....though
Peep kept crashing on me, otherwise I'd have stuck with it
Really, I have had an update problem here or there, but it has been great for me.
Seesmic seems to work ok for me, anybody know of one that uses twitlonger?
Oh Ubertwitter how I miss thee
found in the market for 2.1 trying it out now
I tried it for a day, but IDK I always fall back on seesmic. I did like how light on resources twicca seems to be... might have to check it out again
Tweetcaster! it rules. Plus new update coming out with a widget!!
the best thing about Android .... it gives you lots of options...... plenty of "flavors" for everyone ......
I'm in love with it now...and i'm relatively new to twitter. I like that when I type @, and start typing it will auto-fill my friends name. (I don't always have it memorized). It's also very easy to attach a picture i just took, which I like doing.
