Is the stock "gallery" player the best, or is there something better for watching movies/TV shows on the EVO? Thanks, boys. :)

I've been playing with a few and have gone back to the built-in "Videos" app.

Well that's the point they're all crap. There is no robust media player on droid for vids and the basic music players works good enough. I wanna make playlist or auto play every video in a directory or by meta tag. Maybe I should develop one and sell it for .99

Edit: Looks like meridian will auto play every video in a directory....oops. :)

I downloaded that Meridian app and watched about 3 min. of a movie and it force closed on me. I have been using an app called "YouPlayer" and havent seen any issues.

In my experience I... I spent 4 days trying to figure out why I couldnt rip a move and put it on my EVO. Finally I used the app "YouPlayer" and it played great.. still havent figured out why the stock video player wont play it.. but thats another topic Im sure.

    But I vote for YouPlayer.

No vote for Rock Player? It plays all sorts of file types including avi, and it even plays files with AC3 audio. Good transport controls and saves your place in every file.

    +2 for Rockplayer
It's hands down the best, most versatile player. It handles almost every video format. When the dev finally updates with HDMI output it's a done deal.

Rockplayer is actually the reason I moved from winmo to Android -- the lack of avi playback and the nuisance of having to convert all my videos was the last thing that was holding me back.

Really happy about the AC3 playback -- Coreplayer didn't even do that.

My favorite at the moment is mvideoplayer. Hated if at first but decided to try it again and it's fantastic. made it the default player.

Video player for me from the market. Super simple and it just works. No need to navigate folders. Just shows me all videos on my evo. Which helps as I also download podcasts through itunes and sync it on the evo via isyncr. So inherently its located in separate folders.
