Easiest and fastest way is to take it to a Sprint repair center will take then 15 minutes and your done, I had it done and it was fast and free

the 2 repair stores near me won't touch it. They both say they arn't allow to open them up. They also say that i can't replace it either using my warranty because it's a dust issue and sprint won't let them...

Well make sure it is a Sprint Repair Center and not a Sprint Sales Store, I had no issues in having them fix it, actually they wrote down on the repair ticket, replace trackball, not sure if they did that, I asked only for the dust issue, but maybe the dust is coming from the trackball I have no clue but it looks new now.

Get a slender cover for your phone like the one by Seidio. My first Hero got full of dust and I hated that but I had to get it replaced and when I did I had bought a Seidio cover for the new one and so far I've had no dust issues.
