Better app for the camera?

I love the phone, coming from a HTC One V, but the camera leaves something to be desired. Are there any apps out there that are better than the stock camera app, especially for video? Hopefully KitKat will improve some things, but until it's available I need something that will work better in the meantime, or at least know if it's the app or just the camera specs. Thanks!

If you're talking about the quality of the pictures, it's the camera.

If you're talking about the access you get to the camera (settings and so forth), it's the firmware. An app can only access what the firmware gives it. If you want a more real camera feel, try Camera FV5

    Thanks I'll try it out.

My beef is more how long it takes to focus and then take the picture. Not that I would use it as my main go-to camera but often we won't have our camera with us and I'd like to take some quick pictures, not wait 2 seconds. I know holding down the button will get rapid succession, but I'd rather just it take the picture when I push the button.
