I have been using three "cleaner" apps: CacheMate for root users and the cache cleaner in Android Assistant, as well as History Cleaner. Yet, I'm still finding that some caches are not getting cleared, such as opera mini browser and xdscope browser and who knows what else, b/c i mysteriously lose internal storage daily and can't find where it has gone...i'm assuming some app or process is "eating" it.

any recommendations for a better or perhaps additional cache cleaning app or idea? thanks lots!

Also, the browser is notorious for amassing a large cache that has to be cleared from within.
try clearing HTML5 data, cache, form data, history, passwords, and locaction access .
I do that plus I use SD maid, and I use Root Tool Box and wipe download history and market search history.

That's why I use dolphin hd it has a setting to clear cache and browsing history on exit.

where do i find/how do i clear: HTML5 data, cache, form data, history, passwords, and locaction access?

i'll look at root tool box...i used sd maid but i suspect it corrupted my Link2sd partition on my sd card, so it had to go.

    thanks!

In dolphin HD move finger from left to right. You should see down at the bottom "quick access" select it. Select "settings ". Select data storage settings. Select "clear data". If you scroll down you will see all options.
Just clearing history and cache is not enough.
The browser app should only be 6.? MB. I go to App2SD to verify size. Anything in the 7.5 -9 range means it's storing to much.
If you have Link2SD I don't know how you would monitor size of app.

Root Tool Box does the best job of cleaning market history and download history. I wouldn't use it to clear cache partition and dalvik cache, it might cause app force closures.

I use dolphin mini. From home screen. Settings button. Manage applications. Dolphin browser. Manage space.

From there you can delete everything you need. Html5 seems to take up a lot of space.

Never had a lot of trouble, but the task manager in ES File Explorer has a cache cleaner.

A ha! I just went into dolphin mini and cleared data as suggested, and got 2mb space back! Would not have tried that on my own, thx all!

Ps...I'm guessing that is needed to be done manually after each use?

From my understanding yes. It really isn't a big deal to leave it there though. Just clean it weekly or monthly. Unless you use a ton of apps and have almost no internal storage.

Just keep an eye on your dolphin app's size.
If it gets above 7MB you might want to clear everything but cookies(you might not want to have to sign in to all your speed dial sites all over again).

You have link2sd you should upgrade to dolphin hd. It has an auto cache clear on exit setting and most of it links other than your passwords and book marks

I'm sure I could be wrong, but I thought I'd read that the mini version was faster than hd...especially better for "less powerful" phones... do you think it matters?

That is for stock. Do to room and cpu. But now you have link so no memory issue and you are over clocked and you don't have all that junk that was running before bogging down your system your phone has been kicked up a notch and can do allot more than it should by what the man tells you. ;) I've used hd for a long time with no issues including on harmonia. Don't go by what they say will work anymore now test it for yourself. This phone can do allot now that you have freed its chains. (Almost ;) ) you still need backside.

I wasn't really happy with any of those. I found xScope by coincidence when it was Amazon's FAotD. I've been quite happy with it since. I even watch flash video with it. But not hulu!

i've been trying xscope since you mentioned it in my hulu post, and i like how fast it is...haven't really used it much, but am playing around with it, also opera mini and dophin...now in hd, of course. :)

Go to market and search Dolphin add-ons.
There all free and give you the functionality of a real PC and then some.

I haven't tried Dolphin since I got my CPU settings just right, I may have to give it another shot. I've been pretty happy with xScope, though...

It's not as fast but you can get more functionality out of it.

You might want to up that recommended limit to closer to 9MB. Some of those cached files are what makes the app itself run smoother, they are not all cached internet files. ;)

Of course, using Dolphin's clear cache on exit function should make this a moot point.

    AndyOpie150 <strong> <a href="http://androidforums.com/optimus

    I'm a little unclear about your explanation JerryScript(a First I'm thinking) .
What is cached, and how would you keep from cleaning it, that would make Dolphin HD run smoother.
