Does anyone make a 3.5mm stereo cable with the ferrite cores or even a heavily shielded one that isn't the size of coax cable??

I've been trying to find one for the past few days. When I hook my EVO up to my pioneer in my car, I get alternator whine. Pretty sure if it's coming from my current el-cheapo stereo cable, because when I unplug the charger, the noise doesn't go away.

There are cables to prevent EMI.

MINI 3.5MM NOISE FILTER GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR CAR AUDIO - eBay (item 260631943125 end time Aug-06-10 10:28:57 PDT)

Griffin Technology: Noise-reducing Audio Cable - Reduce the hum in your car's stereo system

    Noise-Reducing AUX Audio Cable - K39203US - Kensington

I have the noise issue when plugged into the cheap charger. When I disconnect the charger the noise goes away. I have ordered a (hopefully) better charger and will be using a USB cable with a ferrite core to charge the phone. I also ordered a ferrite core to wrap around the 3.5mm patch cable I ordered:
    For only $0.55 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 3.5mm Stereo Plug/Plug M/M Cable - 6ft | 3.5mm Audio M/M Cables

Do you have a link to the charger that you ordered?? I'm using a motorola at the moment and I don't like the coiled cord.

Original Palm Car CHARGER 3453WW Treo Pre Pixi Centro - eBay (item 380253474866 end time Aug-02-10 22:05:07 PDT)

    And I'll use this cable:

    For only $0.97 each when QTY 50+ purchased - USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male 28/24AWG Cable w/ Ferrite Core - (Gold Plated) - 3ft | USB 2.0 Cables - Micro-B Type

I just ordered the charger last night off ebay. Looks like the USB cable is on backorder from monoprice. I bought the ferrite cores from monoprice as well. I don't know if they will work or not. I'll find out on Wednesday when my order gets here.

So I bought the belkin pureAV cable I linked to above. It seems pretty nice just by holding it. One small problem. It won't fit my phone with the Seidio active case on it. The cutout is too small for the connector.

Do you think I could cut the hole larger? or would that make it rip easier?

Are you in good with your dentist? I used a polishing bit on the end of a drill at the orthodontic office that I do install work for. It worked perfectly for expanding the hole on mine. I have a fairly substantial 3.5mm cable that needed the extra room.

I'll try using my dremel or something.

I plan on building a new cable soon anyway, so it'll need to be cut at some point in time.

Do you have pics of yours?? preferable with and without the cable plugged in.

    Thanks,
    Bryan

I have the same issue when connecting my docks charger, and I've ordered a ground loop isolator in ebay. I'll post back if it fixed the issue or not.
