I downloaded the Bic Lighter app as a 'joke' for a relative that was entertaining us. I'm not into that kind of thing. But anyway.
I turned it on to show someone and used it maybe for 10 seconds. For some odd reason I checked the battery usage maybe one-half hour after and it said the Bic Lighter app had used 4% of the battery(was the middle of the day, not just starting the day).
Is this app doing something in the background it shouldn't?

    Anyone else notice this?

I downloaded (and have since uninstalled) that app, too. I didn't notice that problem, but I didn't have the app for very long, either. When you installed it, did you happen to notice what areas/information the app accesses in the security warning? I can't recall, myself.

Will look in Market or App Brain....

Crap. Can't see that info after you've loaded it.

A few replies say "battery eater". I made one myself stating it must be doing something in the background...even if that is staying on.

Good thing is my phone didn't catch on fire ;)

    UNINSTALLED!

I've got it and it didn't do that to mine.

I'm assuming you've checked your battery status. Maybe there's a glitch in the program to where it stays 'on' if you shut it down 'incorrectly'.

OK, so yesterday I turned on the Bic for about 1 minute before I responded to this thread, backed out of it to shut it down and have not turned it on since. Checked my battery status again this morning. Bic has used 6% of my battery since unplugged (1 hour)...it's uninstalled now. OP you are right, bad app.

It stays running in the background, you have to kill it with a task killer.
