Bionic, 4G/End of Unlimited Data...little more clarification...

I talked to a VZW customer service rep today. After B.S.ing with her for awhile, and talking about places in L.A., where I live and where she used to, etc..., I hit her with all these questions...

Unlimited Data end-
She told me, they don't have any knowledge of unlimited data being taken away yet. I told her about the CFO comments a few days ago and she said, info like that takes awhile to trickle down to them. Usually they know about it, just before it happens. "If you are currently in a 3G plan and have unlimited data, you will be grandfathered in with any 3G plan you sign up in the future. IF you switch to 4G before unlimited ends, you will be Grandfathered in to any new 4G plan in the future. If you are in 3G with unlimited and upgrade to 4G after unlimited ends, you will not be grandfathered into unlimited data!"

Bionic- "No word on release date. They will not know until about a week before release. Unlimited Data will most likely end before Bionic is released... They usually plan things that way..."

Question now--- Do we all go out and buy a Charge???

Makes sense, this is the way it's always been when they've changed plans.

No, when unlimited data does end info will almost certainly be leaked a few days before and you'll have time to upgrade before it takes effect. Besides, the TB & Charge may be cheaper or the Bionic might be out by then.

So if they have no word yet how can that make that statement? Every time I talk to someone different at VZ I get a different answer, so until they announce tiered data we'll have to see. ATT you are grandfathered into unlimited data even when you go with their "4G".

I suspect we'll get 1-2 weeks like when 1 year contracts went away.

When I called, the rep told me I'd be grandfathered. It still isn't worth it - the lineup is a joke. I'm just going to wait for a decent phone to be released that has new specs and decent battery life.
