Help Black Screen Help

I put my phone in my pocket and when I took it out after a while I couldn't turn it on or anything for a while. After that I hard reset the phone with the Power + Volume Down combo, and it vibrated but the screen remained black. Now the phone makes notifications sounds, the buttons on the bottom glow, my ringtone goes off when someone calls me, but the screen won't turn on. I've tried hard resetting the phone many times and tried to put it in recovery mode but no matter what the screen won't turn on and can only hear the notifications and the vibration of the phone. Is there anything I can do or am I gonna go broke with a repair?

When you reboot it does the screen turn on at any point? If it lights up at the start ("splash screen") or in recovery but is black when it boots into Android it's a software problem. If it remains black at all times then it's almost certainly hardware.

You could try reflashing the device, but I'm not optimistic.

If you are not rooted, my first advice is to go to the service center. If you are rooted, even then, first go to the Samsung guys. As most of the times they will not be able to check if you are rooted or not, as the screen is black.
