well I go to the University of Texas and we use blackboard, the website and attached files show up just fine in the browser for me. Do the apps just make it a semi-mobile site?

For some reason I didn't even imagine doing this on my phone. I went on to my school's blackboard via browser and could get in to everything just fine.

An apps would save from having to log in and would make managing the site easier. I have no knowledge of developing an app or I would. They have an app for the iPhone so why not?! lol

While an app would be nice, I would be absolutely thrilled that the phone's browser can handle sites like this. I was blown away when I could access blackboard, webassign, webct vista, etc. It's proven invaluable both for tutoring students and for my own classes. Just saying, don't take such capabilities for granted, logging on is not that difficult.

I tried to download some Word documents off of Blackboard, but it shows me just a blank page without prompting the download. Neither the default browser or Dolphin lets me choose "Save link." Is there any web browser that does this?

Must just mean the average iPhone user is too stupid to use a browser to go to a web page and needs an app for that.... :p

What I did was I downloaded the office doc viewer and then open the doc in a new window on the browser and it starts to download then I can view it that way.

I've downloaded the BlackBoard Learn app on my Droid running Android 2.2.1. Unfortunately, I've had it "Force Close" on me twice and have been unable to reliably open attachments. I'm trying to determine if this is just the way my school has been adding attachments (it complains about not having an extension), if it's something about the fact that I have the full version of Documents to Go, if it's a problem with the Learn application, or if it's user error. Any other experiences?
