I would like to block certain webpages on my Galaxy 3s. Either on a specific web browser (e.g. the default android) or for the whole internet conection, doesn't really matter.

I have located systems/etc/hosts and I am trying to edit the textfile by adding the row
    127.0.0.1 <website url>
However, I am not allowed to save the file. I guess that I do not have root access. Any suggestions on how to get around this problem?

    Kind regards

Any app that would do what you want would do it the same way - by catching the request for that address and repointing it to somewhere else - which requires root.
