Blocking wifi

My husband and I are thinking of having a 'tech-free' summer for our kids. They're just becoming too entrenched in social media and we think they need a break. They both have Galaxy S6's running Jellybean. They're both involved in summer activities though and will still need the basic calling/texting features of their phones. Is there a way to block the phones from accessing wifi when they're out and about or at friends homes?

if they are tech savvy, nothing you can do will stop them from making WiFi work again.

but, if they agree, it is easy to use a macro to always shut off WiFi
or, they can just simply press the WiFi button and turn it off manually.

Take the smart-phones away, and give them basic candy-bar devices. That's the rules we have for the tech-free summer camps. And no tablets or laptops allowed either.
