I'm guessing you have a built-in factory bluetooth car radio? What does the Manufacturer of your car say? It's possible it affects more than the SGN. What car is it?

bluetooth works great with my satechi (sp?) fm adapter where some older moto products would flake out on the bluetooth connection all the time.

I wish I could help, but my Mazda's bluetooth is very spartan, so all controls come from phone regardless.

In my wife's Toyota, if I connect bluetooth audio, the controls are fairly minimal. It pretty much autoplays whatever your default audio player is. On screen (its a touchscreen DVD/Nav radio) the controls are very basic. You have 2 buttons on screen. I think its a play/pause and a stop (or maybe next). That's it. The track buttons also allow you to go to previous or next tracks as well. There is no track information transmitted, nothing. You basically get a simple remote control for your phone. Play, Pause, Next, Last.

i have a clarion deck and it controls the music app just fine. Sometimes it does not auto connect like it should but once connected, i can skip tracks or play/pause with the deck no problem.

Have you tried an alternate music app, besides google music (stock). At least that would help narrow down the issue if another app works. Sounds like you are able to pair ok. My only other thought would be to go through any settings/setup available from the car. And sometimes bluetooth can have that cure-all of unpairing and repairing.
