Help Bluetooth - cannot connect w/ computer

Really? Inferior to the iPhone? Have you tried doing anything using iPhone's BT besides connect a headset? My friend has a 4S and cannot BT to his MacBook or his iPad. It pairs with my Galaxy S2 but will not talk with it. Same goes for the iPad. I have no issues with almost everything else I try to connect with; just Apple stuff. Even my old Motorola could send files via BT to the old iMac I have but an iPhone couldn't. Given Apple stuff won't talk with other Apple stuff, I doubt the problem lies with the Galaxy.

As for features being different from the iPhone. Er of course. Apple sues any company that it considers is doing anything similar to its products and features. If Android/Galaxy is so bad then you should get another iPhone.

so it seems a) there is a [major] issue with bluetooth connectivity here b) no fix by users c) no fix by samsung d)samsung clearly don't even read this forum.

apart from the shocking battery life, obviously inferior user options compared o iphone [like slide to delete emails] and useless navigation compared to iphone, THIS IS YET ANOTHER REASON I AM SO REGRETTING HAVING JUST SWITCHED FROM IPHONE --- AAARRRRGGGHHHH FRUSTRATION.....

ps I am a non techie and just want ease of use ...

OKAY UPDATE - it actually is connecting but first said S2 not accepting - so maybe working but boy oh boy what a process!

My need was for transferring files back and forth using Bluetooth but run into the same issue as many others here. After pairing the phone on Win7 64b, I got the "no drivers found" warning.

Solved by:

1. In the Bluetooth device window, right-click the phone icon and select 'Properties'
2. Click 'Hardware' tab then 'Properties'
3. Click 'Change settings'
4. Select the 'Driver' tab, then 'Update driver...'
5. Click the second option: "Browse my computer for driver software"
6. Click to choose the option "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
7. From the list "Common hardware types", Select 'Ports (COM & LPT)'
8. Two droplists appear. Choose 'Microsoft' in the "Manufacturer" list, then 'Standard Serial over Bluetooth link' in the "Model" list
9. A warning window pops up. Ignore it by clicking 'Yes'
10. 'Close' and done!

This solution is independent of Kies which I don't use.

While playing around with this I found out that my computer didn't alert me about incoming files. That's probably because the IT-department at my work have disabled that function for me. So, for sending files from the phone to the computer I have to first open up the "Bluetooth file transfer" window by selecting "Receive a File" from the drop-down list that appears when clicking the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar. Then I can monitor the file transfer and select target directory.

WORKS works works!!! Thanky you!!! simply works for my app :p:p:p (share Gps for desktop) i'm searching on the web.... this is the solution....:D:D:D

Bye from Italy...

SGS2 owner here, with BT enabled PC.
My phone wont connect to PC via BT. an earlier version of Kies managed to connect me to the PC (via Bluetooth) but I find the upgraded version of Kies fail to do so. Must try getting the earlier version of Kies and try to load BT drivers. If anybody succeeds please let us know.

IF I WANNA KEEP THIS SHORT AND SWEET:

As a software engineer who has a fair amount of knowledge from old computers until Android masterpieces, tried every single thing mentioned in this forum and other forums plus lots of other stuff. Blue-tooth connection DOESN'T WANNA WORK.

IF YOU WANNA KNOW THE DETAILS READ ALONG:

What I realised was:

 • This issue is mostly PC side related issue than the SAMSUNG side.
 • The driver hasn't been specified by SAMSUNG issuming that everybody in the world owns Toshiba Laptops :D (even the crap Toshiba Bluetooth software for non Toshiba laptops didn't fix the problem and was about to take over and crap my legend Lenovo with a malware)
 • after hooking the mobile up with Android Debug Bridge (ADB) using USB, ran awesome Lenovo Update and he recommended a new driver called "Thinkpad Bluetoosh 2.1 with enhanced Data Rate" and also windows had an update for SAMSUNG adb interface. Did them both, and restart. BAM!!! it managed to install 5 new drivers and the 6th one which failed called with general name of "Blue-tooth Peripherals" which lots of people believe it's "transfer BDX" driver or something similar.
 • NOW, I can:

 1. Pair my phone
 2. use the laptop to listen to the music which is broadcasting via Galaxy
 3. use the laptop like a headset to talk and listen while having a call
 4. send and receive files via Blue-tooth

 • I Can't:

 1. Connect to SAMSUNG Kies via Blue-tooth. ( the device terminated the connection ) message.
 2. Make a Bluetooth connection via COM Ports and transmit GPS data to Google Earth using real time NMEA connection despite trying multiple apps and multiple settings for COM ports.
Who to blame:

 • SAMSUNG: for a very poor implementation of any type of feature which involves PC.
 • Since:

 1. The Kies is a very poor interface for backing up & managing the phone ( which is very critical ) and unfortunately for Non-rooted and also in my believe for Rooted phone the only interface which includes all the functionalities including backing up Data, Settings, and Personals. NOT using this buggy poor interface of Kies, forces the users to be dependent on separate programs and apps to back up every individual functionality. I need and app to back up my application settings, need an app for back up my data and photos and videos on SD, need an app to back up contacts, SMSs and etc. and bla bla bla only because Kies stops in the preparation step for backing up my Data and takes millions years to back up a simple SMS list.
 2. Used to have Sony-Ericsson phone with a PC Suite which is unbelievably advanced when it comes to compare to Kies.
THEN PLEASE:

 1. if it worked for the first time for you, you're lucky cuz you own the specific gear by luck ( But don't be proud of yourself and stop accusing others for not reading the manuals which teach you how turn on your phone ) CUZ
 2. if it doesn't work, you need to be a "driver writer" which should've been hired by SAMSUNG ages ago to write a simple driver for Bluetooth interface before he sells 3 million one of the phone which is chosen to be a 2011s best phone in thousand websites.
SAMSUNG you are going to lose the market for such an awesome phone by not considering these. You've done the hard bit and created a masterpiece and now you're making your clients miss your competitors phone "iPhone" cuz they used to open iTune and use a very neat interface prepared by specialists for them for ease of use and epic functionality.

Open to hear any success storied.

I finaly got my Droid to pair and connect to my PC, However after it connects i get a message that says something like "your bluetooth sound device is not your default device" and my sound does not play through my speakers. There is no such device present in my audio settings.

Ok, i posted a solution to this in another thread.

I believe the problem with some computers is A) Kies, and B) the computers own driver update system (In my case, Samsung Recovery Solution, but ive seen the problem with Dell and Compaq machines) I think that both want things only installed to the computer their own way, and as a result either the proprietary software just wont install a new driver, or you get the 1935 error. KIES IS NOT REQUIRED ON YOUR PC FOR ANYTHING except possibly updating your phone or syncing, in which case there is far better software for it. So heres what i did -

1. Go to the widcomm site and download their Broadcom bluetooth stack drivers. These will get around the refusal to install new drivers. In a way i guess you could say they are "Unbranded" drivers.

2. Go to control panel, uninstall a program - And uninstall your bluetooth controller software (in my case it was a Broadcom package)

3. Uninstall Kies

4. Go to your device manager and uninstall ALL of your bluetooth drivers (including any extra accessories to be on the safe side, im guessing leaving some in might break functionality or cause other installation problems)

5. Either reboot or refresh hardware, and windows will attempt to automatically install drivers. Let it run. 2 main bluetooth devices will appear, and then you will get several installation errors, this is fine.

6. Run the installer you downloaded from widcomm. EVERYTHING will reappear, and several bluetooth devices you DIDNT see before will appear. including media streaming devices, remote control devices, and a few other things. I believe it installed about 14 for me.

You are now done, and will have full functionality your bluetooth, and any other devices should just appear and install when needed :D

Good luck guys.

All this while I had been listening music through my mono Bluetooth headset with mono routers like "BT Mono" and "Mono Router" but it is no more possible after I switched over to JB 4.2.x custom ROMs like Resurrection Remix and Supernexus JB 4.2 on my Galaxy S2.
Is this a problem with JB 4.2 and is there a work around to this problem?

Not sure if anyone is still having this issue these days, but I have found a solution that works.

1. To ensure everything is done right you should ensure you have the drivers for your computer's Bluetooth device. If you have not already done so, go into your Device and Printers and remove your phone, this should also uninstall the Bluetooth drivers for your phone.

2. Now for x86 (32-bit) go to Download Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for Windows Vista (32-bit) from Official Microsoft Download Center and x64 (64-bit) go to Download Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 Driver for Windows Vista (64-bit) from Official Microsoft Download Center and download the Windows Mobile Device Center, once downloaded install it.

3. Once installed, reboot your computer. This is essential to ensure everything updates in the system correctly and hopefully avoids having to re-install all your Bluetooth drivers.

4. After you have rebooted the computer, go into Device Manager and check to see if Bluetooth Peripheral Device is still showing in there. If so, go to step 5, if not skip to step 6.

5. Right click the Bluetooth Peripheral Device and choose update driver. Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software". Then click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer". From here click on Bluetooth Radios and click Next. Once the list pops up choose the Manufacture as Microsoft Corporation, not Microsoft, and in the next box choose Windows Mobile-based device support. Click Next, a box will pop-up click Yes, and let the driver install.

6. Go onto your Android and ensure any pairing information with your computer has been removed. (Settings > Bluetooth) Also, make sure you check your device to be visible. Now on your computer, Start > Devices and Printers. Click Add a Device and Windows will scan for your phone. Once it is found and you choose to pair the two, Windows will automatically install most of the drivers for your device. If you get the Bluetooth Peripheral Device issue then go back to Step 5 for instructions on installing it.

7. After you have accomplished Steps 5 and 6 reboot your computer and everything should be good to go.
