How to connect bluetooth 4.0 with bluetooth 3.0 or lower?
Hello Dck. Welcome to Android Forums. If your phone or tablet is 4.0 compatible it will be backwards compatible. If you are having problems connecting to an older device, let us know. We should be able to get you connected unless you are experiencing some hardware problems. Let us know what Android device you are using... that might aid us in our assistance. Thanks for joining and using these forums.

Like olbriar suggested, a little more information can go a long way. If you can tell us your device information then we can help you out better.
I am using a Galaxy S4 mini , BT4.0 to connect a KE283-CDBT1 (for Nissan carphone) adapter, probably BT3.0 or lower.
How to make these compatible?
Dck, you will want to ask for help in the support area for your phone. Here is a link to that area: Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini - Android Forums
Please start a thread there. State the problem you are having and what you have tried. Our friendly members that know your phone best will most likely have the exact procedure you should try to complete the BT connection you are after. Here is a link to your support area:
