I am having some issues connecting EVO to my computer via a Bluetooth Dongle I bought on Amazon. You can see the model here.

I have an earpiece that receives A2DT so that I can listen to music on it, and I have no problems pairing between the phone and the headset. However, I can not get either one to pair with the computer. I know this might not necessarily be an Android or Evo issue, but I am sure someone here has an idea what might be happening.

The computer doesn't find the phone, but the phone does see the computer. When I try to pair the phone it asks me if the computer is displaying a passkey, but all the computer is doing is asking me to click a balloon if I want to allow it to connect. I have no idea how to get the passkey to show up.

Also, I can't get the computer to recognize either the phone or the headset.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times, I've even used the drivers from Broadcomm's website, as they build the software, and had no luck there.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm about the throw this cheap bluetooth out the window.

Have you ever gotten this issue resolved? I unfortunately am not able to help as I know nothing on bluetooth or its issues. I have a Jabra Ear Piece somewhere around here but really havent used it in a couple of years. However I may be able to direct someone to you that may be able to help.

My apologies for the lengthy response time. I hadn't noticed that this thread had been replied to.

In short, no, I never did get this resolved. I actually ended up buying another bluetooth dongle from Kinovo, unfortunately it did the exact same thing. Kinovo even warranted the dongle for me and sent me another one, but it didn't work either.

If you could point me in the right direction, I would be greatly appreciative.

    Thanks,
    Mac
