Help Bluetooth or wi-fi tethering with 1.6?

Does anyone know of a way to setup tethering with the LG Eve so that my wi-fi only iPad can get internet through my phone without rooting or updating to a hacked version of Android?

I downloaded Pdanet and it has the option for bluetooth tethering but you need android 2.0 or higher.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for responding. All the links you sent require the phone to be rooted unfortunately. I am not sure I want to try that, I can't afford to go without a phone if I mess it up.

Have you done it before? Is it hard to do? Seems like most of these methods require that it be at least Android 2.1 as well as rooted and I'm stuck on 1.6 with the eve.

Seems kind of ridiculous that there is no way for me to do it.

I'm also a bit reluctant to attempt to Root my phone now that is is 1.6 as all the rooting guides I can find are from when the eve was 1.5. I dialed that number to get into the secret menu and the place where the guide says to enable root permissions is no longer in the same spot.

Has anyone tried rooting the EVE since the 1.6 upgrade?
