I've had my Droid replacement for about a month and have noticed that the bluetooth radio seems very weak. Yesterday I compared the performance with an old Motorola 815 and the 815 range is 5x greater. With the droid I need to hold the phone on the same side of my body as the headset, or else I get static. If I put the phone on a table and walk away I start getting static at around 8-10' (less if my body obstructs). I don't remember my old phone being this bad. Is my phone defective? What range to others get?

    Thanks.

wow...i have my phone on my desk in my cubicle, and i can walk to the printer about 20-25 feet in a straight line, with about 6 cubicle walls obstructing the connection before it starts cutting out. i would be safe in guessing i could go 40 feet or so with no obstructions and still get perfect sound. i am VERY happy with my BT reception.

OG droid, and Jabra Clipper BT headset.

I have a quality Plantronics headset which when tested w/ an old motorola E815 has much more range than with the Droid phone. I'm thinking about returning because I almost exclusively use the headset.

I got the phone replaced with another refirb and the bluetooth range is now comparable w/ the E815. There was definitely something wrong.
